Meet Dr. Nyla

Nyla completed her Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine from Southern California University of Health Sciences, graduating summa cum laude with an emphasis on healthy aging, women's health, internal medicine, and a deep focus on herbal medicine. Her clinical background includes pediatric care at the Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) and specialized experience in sports medicine, providing a well-rounded foundation for treating patients of all ages and activity levels.

Her training extends well beyond Traditional Chinese Medicine. She is a traditionally initiated Bwiti Medicine woman and has spent the last 10 years studying indigenous Southeast Asian and West African systems of healing. Through this work, she has come to deeply value the role that purpose, connection to self, to ancestors, and to the natural world play in overall health. The harmony found in the traditions she has dedicated her life to studying allows her to offer a truly holistic approach to care.

Before she is a doctor or healer, she is a student — committed to deepening her understanding of her craft and discovering more impactful ways to serve her community. Her approach is grounded, steady, and rooted in mutual effort, evidence-based practice, and informed treatment. She takes the time to walk patients through each step, answer questions, and invite them into the healing process as much as they are willing to be involved.
